We are incredibly proud to have been recognised as a finalist in the 2025 Pilbara Community Services Excellence Awards, held in Newman on Nyiyaparli Country.
This year’s theme, 'Celebrating Pilbara Champions of Change', shone a spotlight on the organisations and individuals driving positive change across the region - demonstrating innovation, inclusivity, resilience, collaboration, and strong leadership.
It was an inspiring evening celebrating the heart of the Pilbara: people and organisations working every day to make a difference. While we didn’t take home the win, being recognised alongside such exceptional finalists was a true honour.
Across the Pilbara, the Y WA operates four early learning centre's and two community services, making a meaningful impact for children, young people, and families. This includes:
-
Our Pakala Jijikaja Yankuni-la program in Newman – meaning “Get up young people, let’s go!” in Martu language, providing holistic, culturally guided support for school attendance, outreach, and family wellbeing.
We are grateful to the Pilbara community for your trust, spirit, and partnership, and to Pilbara for Purpose for bringing us all together to celebrate the champions of this region.
